Bedknobs and Broomsticks

At Target today, this movie was sitting on the end kiosk. I picked it up and instantly knew I had to have it! Its one of my favorite movies from childhood. Not to mention that my Grandma had a big giant brass bed that I admittedly tried to turn the knobs a few time to see if it would take off and take me somewhere magical. If you haven't seen this movie ever take a look at the clip below! It won Best Effects in 1971. How charming is that!

Groove Shark

A friend turned me on to this awesome new music player. Its similar to Pandora but you can create and save playlists (like mixpod) and you can actually type in a song you want to hear and it usually has that song. Plus they have a lot of indie artists that I like to listen to. So its a win for everyone!Listen to Groove Shark Also, its a fun flash website ( if you're a nerd and enjoy that kind of stuff.)

Bower Birds

Through my daily blog porn readings I stumbled upon this band "Bower Birds" and they are fantastic. I'm always looking for some more music and these folks have definitely hit a chord with me. Now my only dilemma is do I buy a record of them or buy the iTunes. Right now, the iTunes has won out because I have $35.00 in iTunes gift cards and $0 in fun spending money. Besides at $7.99 for a 13 song albumn vs. going to hollywood and pawing through shelves of records trying to find them or gasp ordering them online and paying shipping iTunes is just wayyyyy easier; today.


Besides how cute are they? She plays an accordion. Adorable.

Fats Waller

I have a special place in my heart for listening to vinyl records. I absolutely love the crackly crispy warm quality that comes out from the record players. Plus you can get steals on great records of past great musicians. Lately, I've been listening to this giant TIME magazine sponsored vinyl set of Jazz Greats. I think the first 4 are all of Fats Waller.
