The Fourth of July!

I wish I had a great excuse for not blogging for nearly a month but I don't really...I finished working on Transformers 3 and took off a week to spend with family and a week to get stuff done at my house. Then after those two weeks, I went back to work on some new films and the weeks got by me!

We try to go away for the 4th of July every year. We've been successful the past few years and rent a cabin in Big Bear Lake, CA.

If you want to see pictures from last years trip click here! Our favorite location to stay is in the Moonridge area. Our cabin this year had an amazing view of the Big Dipper. We unfortunately, didnt' capture the big dipper but if you click on these pictures you will get a bigger size photo of some slow shutter speed night shots.

It is breath taking to see the stars like this. We viewed them from the decks of our cabin.

Got to have a cheesy picture of us to look back in 20 years!

We took a few photo's via instagram (add me if you like - jackandtill)

We had to make sure we had enough libations for the weekend!

Beautiful yellow flowers that cover the mountain side

Bye Big Bear! Thanks for the memories.

4th of July and Big Bear Lake

Thought, I'd share some photos from our 4th of July trip!

We stopped a few times on the way up the mountain to take some photos. In total, I think we were around 7,000+ above sea level.

The view from the deck at our cabin.
Soaking in some sun and scenery
Cute little sign on the cabin

The pups started getting anxious to get there.

Amazing views everywhere you turned

The hot tub and as we discovered some of the most amazing skies late at night. The sky was chocked full of beautiful twinkling stars. Wish we would have brought the tripod to take some pics of the night sky.
This is a bit further down the mountain where its a bit more dry and not as lush.

It was such a great little vacation! I wish friends would have been free to join in on the fun but the cabin was amazing and being forced to relax and not do much is really good for the mind. It sure helped me battle my extremely long work days once I got back.

When life hands you lemons

head to the mountains and relax. That is how the saying goes right?

This is where I'm going to be spending my Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We're heading up to big bear early on Saturday and spending the weekend relaxing and not thinking about the things that are really frustrating us right now. Work has thrown me a major curve ball and I'm doing my best to stay positive and work through it. That's all that can be done right?

Sorry this post is a bit negative. Hopefully when I come back I'll be recharged and ready to face all and any challenges that come my way.
